Gynecomastia with pseudoangiomatous hyperplasia and multinucleated giant cells in a patient without neurofibromatosis.

چکیده
Dear Editor: Pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia (PASH) and stromal multinucleated giant cells (MGC) can occur in both female and male breast (1-5). In males, simultaneous occurrence of PASH and MGC in gynecomastia was described in patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF-1) (6-8). However, the specificity of this finding for NF-1 still remains unclear because the number of described cases is limited. In male patients without NF-1, PASH with MGC in gynecomastia was not reported, to my knowledge. Here, I would like to describe one such case briefly. A 22-year-old male presented with two years slowly growing unilateral gynecomastia of the right breast. Otherwise, his medical history was unremarkable. The lesion was excised and

Pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia with giant cells in the female breast. No association with neurofibromatosis?
A simultaneous finding of pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia (PASH) and stromal multinucleated giant cells (MGC) in mammary tissue was previously observed in patients with type-1 neurofibromatosis, indicating that it can represent a morphologic marker for this syndrome. Here, we present PASH with MGC occurring in the left breast of a 39-years-old woman who does not have neurofibromatosis. Th...
متن کاملMultiple Central Giant Cell Granuloma of the Mandible: A Case Report
Introduction: Central giant cell granuloma is a benign lesion but sometimes has aggressive proliferation composed of multinucleated giant cells in a background of spindle and ovoid mesenchymal cells. Multifocal central giant cell granuloma of jaws is very rare and usually associated with hyperparathyroidism and some syndromes. We described an un-usual case of a 22-year-old man with idi-opathic ...
متن کاملFloret-like multinucleated giant cells in neurofibroma
This short report discusses a case of neurofibroma containing floret-like multinucleated giant cells. This being the second such case in the literature. Floret-like multinucleated giant cells have been reported in gynaecomastia and neurofibroma in neurofibromatosis type 1. These cells have been reported in uncommon soft tissue tumours including pleomorphic lipoma, giant cell collagenoma, giant ...
متن کاملLarge pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia complicated with gynecomastia and lobular differentiation in a male breast
Pseudoangiomatous stromal hyperplasia (PASH) is a benign lesion often observed in parts of the mammary stroma in a variety of breast diseases. It is characterized by stromal myofibroblastic proliferation that possesses irregularly anastomosing slit-like pseudovascular spaces lined by a layer of spindle cells. PASH commonly occurs in premenopausal women; however, it has also been observed in men...
متن کاملGiant Cell Glioblastoma -A Rare Pediatric Cerebral Neoplasm
Giant cell glioblastoma is an extremely rare variant of Glioblastoma (WHO grade IV) which is characterized by a predominance of bizarre, multinucleated giant cells. These tumors comprise of 0.8% of brain tumors and up to 5% of glioblastomas. In pediatric age group, these tumors are still uncommon with only around 53 published cases since 1952. Here, we report a case of a 12-year old female pat...
